Preparing EUDR data: clarify references and sources before the interface.
Prepare product, supplier and geolocation data for a clarified EUDR process. Connect technical checks and references in a traceable way.
Read the German originalYour role determines the data process
The EU provides an information system with technical interfaces for EUDR. The required operations depend on factors including your role, products and applicable requirements. The current documentation covers different declaration types and interface changes.
The applicable business scope and responsible role must therefore be established before implementation. Blanket automation for every delivery would overlook these differences.
Keep sources and geolocation data traceable
Product details, supplier information and geolocation data may come from different systems. Record the source and responsible maintenance process for every field. Missing information remains visible as a gap instead of being replaced by assumptions.
Technical rules can check data formats and geometries, for example. This does not mean due diligence has been performed. The substantive assessment and its evidence remain separate steps in the workflow.
Follow a complete test process
A pilot handles one product group and a few example records. Check the responses, references and treatment of changes as well as transmission. If the transfer status is unclear, reconcile the existing transaction first.
Plan a production submission only after technical and subject-matter acceptance. New API versions and validation rules need attention in operation. The original sources and approved data versions must remain traceable later.
